Fitness events at your brewery
The right format depends on your space, your neighbourhood and your slow hours. The guardrails don’t change: the workout comes first, and nothing about it encourages drinking.
Formats that work in taprooms
| Format | Space needed | Best slot | Typical group |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 km run club | A safe route starting at your door; indoor space for afterwards | Weekday early evening | Runners of mixed pace, 20s to 50s |
| Walking group | A loop of 3 to 5 km | Weekday mid-morning or afternoon | Retirees, new parents, remote workers |
| Mobility or stretch class | Clear floor for 12 to 20 mats | Weekday afternoon, Sunday morning | Desk workers, older adults, runners |
| Strength circuit | Floor or patio; coach brings equipment | Weekday early evening | Gym-goers looking for something social |
| Seasonal outings (snowshoe, ski, paddle) | Nearby trail or water; indoor space after | Weekends | Outdoor groups who travel for the activity |
The guardrails
- No drinking before or during the workout. Any drink comes once the activity is done for the day, and nobody rides, paddles or drives off afterwards.
- No dares, challenges or pressure to drink, and no talk of multiple rounds.
- No health claims for beer. Burning calories doesn’t make beer healthy, and we never say it does.
- No free or discounted alcohol tied to attendance. Session tickets never include a free drink.
- Adults only, and coaches whose audiences are adults.
- Non-alcoholic options poured at every session.
What a week looks like
- Monday: the session page and posts go to you for approval.
- Tuesday: approved promotion goes out to the community and local listings.
- Session day: the coach arrives 20 minutes early, runs the workout, and the group comes inside.
- Next day: you receive attendance and first-time visitor counts.
Who pays for what
Participants pay the session fee, which covers the coach. The brewery pays Brew Fitness for programming and promotion, quoted up front. Your bar sales stay yours. See partnership models for how these deals are usually structured in Canada.
